BIOS software is the first code run by a PC when powered on. It identifies and initializes hardware and hands off control to the operating system which completes the boot process.
Dell BIOS updates are distributed as legacy update packages for older models and as Dell Update Packages (DUP) for newer models. BIOS configuration can be performed with the Dell Client Configuration Toolkit (CCTK) or the OpenManage Client Instrumentation (OMCI).
