Below you will find Driver CABs for Dell Enterprise class systems (Latitude, Optiplex, Precision) to be used to simplify OS deployments on those systems with deployment tools like Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr/SCCM) or Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT).

System CABs for Venue, XPS, Latitude, Optiplex, and Precision Workstations - are designed for deployment to a single model and are developed and supported by Dell

WinPE CABs are designed to provide required drivers for WinPE to boot a Dell Latitude, Optiplex, or Precision Workstation for the purpose of OS Deployment.

Family Driver Packs are designed for deployment to multiple models and are developed and supported by the Dell Configuration Services.

You can also access the System CABs from http://support.dell.com -- Select Drivers & Downloads, and enter the system model. You will find the supported driver .cab file in the "Systems Management" section under "Driver Pack".

Driver CAB's are grouped by product family and are listed with the most recent products at the top.

The Driver CABs are updated based on a release schedule which updates newer systems more frequently.  New CAB download pages will include Delta Reports on what has changed in the CAB.

NOTE: Windows 8 CABs for older systems will be reviewed periodically to see if there are new drivers required.  It is currently expected that Windows 8 will contain the drivers required for those systems.

Dell Command | Update replaces DCSU and is a part of the Dell Client Command Suite. It provides a 2-click solution for getting all the latest drivers, firmware, and BIOS updates for your Latitude, Optiplex, and Precision systems. You can use Dell Repository Manager to create a local repository of updates that Dell Command | Update will use.

ImageAssist Virtual Machine Tutorials by David Urdiales

One of ImageAssist best practices is to use a virtual environment to create our golden image. We can leverage ImageAssist with a Virtual Machine to create and maintain a cross-platform deployable Windows image. Using a virtual environment provides an advantage with keeping up with operating system changes and upgrades, as well as, avoiding issues with system drivers. 

This is why, though we can create our image using a physical Dell system, we still recommend the use of a virtual machine. Below are some video tutorials for three different virtual machine solutions. The tutorials were made using an OEM download copy of Windows 10. In the videos we demonstrate how to create our Reference image that will later progress to your maintenance image then finally your Golden image for deployment. The virtual machine solutions used are:

• VMWare Workstation 12
• VirtualBox
• Microsoft Hyper-V

Microsoft Hyper-V can be added as a feature in Windows 10 with no additional cost. VirtualBox is also a free solution download as to VMWare Workstation is not. Below are the Tutorial video for each platform. We don't recommend using the VM to create the USB Drive for our Dell PE Key. It's best to use the host to create the USB Drive. Please see the link ImageAssist - Create USB Drive  for more information.

NOTE: Depending on your VM host, in regards to VM resources, 2GB of Memory and 2 Processors is acceptable as a bare minimum. However, the process may take longer. All videos listed were trimmed to save time for the purpose of the tutorial.

Family Pack Downloader (ImageAssist Module) is a tool developed by Dell Configuration Services that enables you to download the latest Dell Family Driver Packs for your Dell systems. This tool allows you to configure and select different Dell models, OS and BITS versions to customize which Family Driver Packs you will get. Each time the tool is re-launched it can check for new versions based on the configurations you selected previously and keep your Family Driver Packs up to the currently released version. The driver packs on this page work with ImageAssist, KACE, MDT& SCCM deployments.  They are consolidated, combining models by generation rather than being model specific.  These packs are developed and sustained by Dell's Global Configuration Services group.  For support, please post comments directly to this page.

Drivers used during the development process have been tested and qualified by our Dell Product Group for both platform and factory integration.  There are times when newer drivers are provided by vendors, but in order to get these drivers to customers more quickly they are validated and posted online to support.dell.com.  (where Dell Command Update pulls from) These updated drivers if deemed required or critical will be tested, validated and integrated into the factory process during a future release.  Hence, there may be a delta between when a driver is ‘web-posted’ to support.dell.com and when it gets added to the relevant driver package.
